An early version of the kinetic lattice hypothesis that is described in this work was first published on the internet as www.globalsentience.net in January 2000. It was read by less than 2000 people in 46 countries and it appeared to have had little effect at the time.
More recently several of the new ideas that it disclosed have been discussed in a piecemeal way in the media but as is so often the case the people who were discussing these new concepts were reluctant to mention where they had heard about them. This has been sufficiently galling as to encourage me to update the material with several more new angles and, I hope, improved clarity of presentation. Some of the concepts are quite complex and it is better for them to be read in context.
It has taken a total of twelve years so far to reason out the entire hypothesis and assemble this concise but reasonably full explanation of how the cosmos works. This was a task that was only feasible after I had retired and was able to devote that much effort on my own initiative.
What motivated and sustained me in this effort was the certainty that only a thoroughly sound new approach to philosophy supported by a rational and adequate concept of fundamental physics could possibly be effective enough in the long term suffice to halt or deflect humanity’s headlong rush towards collective disaster and possible extinction.
There must be a unique truth about the fundamental physics of the cosmos, and the truth about the nature of life and our species in particular must also be singular. There are of course many subsidiary truths, but they are all ultimately bound together by the underlying oneness of reality. What could that underlying all-inclusive and totally explanatory reality be? We tolerate the simultaneous existence of multiple conflicting explanations and have even established the ‘right to be wrong’ as a human right on a par with freedom.
More than any other thing we need illumination and understanding of our present situation and all of our possible outcomes.
